The emotional dimensions of the activity in sport and physical education have been the subject of a growing number of studies since the beginning of the 2000s. Various theories and concepts are mobilized to analyze emotions in sport and educational science (i.e., emotional experience, emotional intelligence, emotional labor, coping). The studies based on these concepts also referred to various research methods, qualitative, quantitative or mixed. First, the objective of this special issue is to highlight the diversity of concepts and methods used by researchers. Second, we would to reveal their differences, their complementarities, or their proximities, to better understand the role of emotions in sport and PE. Original empirical articles and reviews of the literature may be proposed to compose this issue.

Deadline for submissions: September 15, 2023

Title change for Science & Motricité! (December 2011)

Science & Motricité changes its title to Movement & Sport Sciences – Science & Motricité in January 2012.

Science & Motricité changes to improve quality and international visibility. First the title of the journal changes to Movement & Sport Sciences – Science & Motricité. The journal publishes papers either in French and English, and its Scientific Committee is enlarged to an international audience.

Movement & Sport Sciences – Science & Motricité publishes four issues a year, mainly special issues. Each special issue offers a compilation of papers related to a particular theme, and is entrusted to a guest editor. The aim of these special issues is to propose an overview of international research in a particular area. The journal, however, continues to publish original papers, grouped in regular issues.
